Job Description

Suffolk Primary Care is seeking a wholesale logistics assistant wanted to provide logistical administrative and governance support to our Wholesale operations based at Combs Ford in Stowmarket.

You will work closely with our small wholesale team to ensure the everyday smooth operation efficient order processing inventory management and customer service. The role involves receiving checking and handling (packing) of pharmaceutical products.

No previous experience in this role is required however the role requires an individual who is motivated and keen to learn. This position will require good numeracy skills and basic knowledge of Excel and Word.

The successful applicant will be self-motivating and willing to accept new tasks and challenges as the wholesale operation grows. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential qualities.

The working hours required will be between 20-30 hours per week.

Duties will include;
  • Ensure that customer orders are received on schedule.
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records including purchase and sales ledger and stock control sheets.
  • Work to despatch targets.
  • Issue of invoices and checking of supplier/client statements.
  • Manage stock control systems and reconciliation data.
  • Check room temperatures are kept at agreed parameters and daily records maintained.
  • Carry out wholesale activities in compliance with good distribution practice.
  • Work closely with the manager to process wholesale orders including associated administration such as entering orders onto system credit control managing returns ensuring batch control and overseeing shipping.
  • Oversee goods received; checking and recording.
  • Oversee goods dispatched; including packing checking and labelling.
  • Record of financials through the raising of purchase orders invoices and or credit notes.
  • Ensure all business finance related information required is passed to the finance team.
  • Manage returns and complaints received.
  • Work within and keep up to date our business processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Fully participate in business self-inspection on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor licence holders eligibility to trade on a monthly basis.
  • Undertake bone fides checks annually to verify the legitimacy of both suppliers and customers.
  • Receive and act on MHRA alerts and product recalls.

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position you will have the following;

Essential:
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Customer care experience with the general public both face-to-face over the phone.
Desirable:
  • Experience of working in a pharmaceutical or logistics setting.
  • Awareness and understanding of MHRA.
