Job Description

Position Summary:

The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing a designated book of commercial insurance business. This role includes maintaining strong relationships with clients underwriters and producers; handling policy renewals and changes; and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. The position requires a thorough understanding of commercial lines coverages carriers and industry regulations. We are targeting someone with 5 years of commercial insurance experience in an independent agency setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Service & Relationship Management:

    • Act as the main point of contact for assigned commercial clients.

    • Provide timely and professional responses to client inquiries regarding coverage billing and policy changes.

    • Foster long-term client relationships through proactive communication and service.

  • Policy Management:

    • Handle renewals endorsements certificates of insurance audits cancellations and reinstatements.

    • Review policy documents for accuracy and completeness.

    • Ensure all client files are maintained and documented in the agency management system.

  • Marketing & Quoting:

    • Work with producers and underwriters to market new and renewal business.

    • Obtain quotes and negotiate with carriers to secure optimal coverage and pricing.

    • Prepare and present proposals to clients.

  • Account Maintenance:

    • Review accounts for coverage adequacy and recommend enhancements or additional coverages.

    • Maintain knowledge of carrier appetite guidelines and underwriting procedures.

    • Ensure compliance with agency procedures and industry regulations.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with producers account executives and other team members to support agency goals.

    • Assist in onboarding new clients and support cross-sell initiatives.
