Job Description:
Abaco Systems is a global leader in modular high performance open architecture standards-based rugged embedded computing for the most demanding applications in defense and industry. Our products and solutions are found in high-profile military/aerospace sea land and air programs plus commercial and industrial organizations in which rugged reliability is mission critical.
Abaco is looking for a talented individual with an Aerospace & Defense background and expertise in quality assurance and process optimization. The candidate will be part of a team designing manufacturing and selling compact and ruggedized board level and system level products using FPGA technology and high-speed A/D & D/A devices. Your responsibilities are to develop improve and report the status of the organizations Quality Management System (QMS) to senior management and to coordinate Quality Assurance activities with Corporate and other divisions of Abaco. This role will support and grow global quality initiatives into the culture and processes of this site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and grow AS9100 quality management system at Huntsville AL and Austin TX sites
Provide clear objectives and guidance to ensure quality policies and procedures are understood and implemented throughout the organization
Collaborate with the delivery of key internal bowler and Tier II metrics such as Functional Test % first pass yield outgoing quality OTD etc. and serve as the internal Voice of Customer (VOC) when it comes to delivering key internal metrics
Conduct internal compliance/process audits
Monitor non-conformance events for proper containment and corrective actions as well as assessing trends and risks
Resolving customer and supplier issues
Support process improvement activities
Support corrective action activities
Contract reviews as it relates to quality standards and quality clauses
Other duties as assigned
