A day in the life
You get the opportunity to work on a ground up rebuild of our analytical capabilities from data ingress to complex business transformations to end user reporting and this role you will invent and build on behalf of internal system users also external candidates experiment and test new ideas evangelize successes and drive consistency. You are expected to be a hands-on technical manager who understands and sets a high bar for all parts of the support engineering as a feedback loop mechanism of a SDLC. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast-paced environment. This team functions as the centralized global support team handling weekly average of 720 tickets across the Amazon recruiting technology organization eco-system (including the third party tools).

About the team
Workforce Solutions (WS) empowers our customers by providing integrated people-focused solutions that streamline hiring processes for WW Stores AWS Devices and Talent Acquisition. As stewards of the employee lifecycle and experience we drive initiatives that promote transparency and efficiency in career mobility workforce engagement and operational needs management. We prioritize customer-centricity by tailoring our capabilities and processes to align with their preferences and behaviors. Our approach is to start with the customers needs and match individuals to the right opportunities through our services.

- 6 years of engineering experience and 2 years of direct management / leadership experience within the information technology industry
- Capable of managing an engineering team supporting external services with a business problem or strategy that may not yet be defined
- Able to assess technical support requirements based on where services are at in their life cycle
- Bachelors degree in Information Science / Information Technology Computer Science Engineering Mathematics Physics or a related field or equivalent work experience

- Experience with AWS service offerings
- Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies highly desired
- Past experience as a systems administration network engineer or software development engineer
- Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
