You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailNelson Mullins AmLaw 60 Firm is seeking a Patent Agent with a degree in engineering and/or computer science and a minimum of two years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution. The successful candidate will collaborate with attorneys in our Minneapolis Charlotte Houston and Boston offices and will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic team-oriented environment.
In this role you will collaborate closely with attorneys and clients across a range of innovative industries including medical devices banking consumer products software electronics and more. While technical expertise in mechanical electrical biomedical computer science or a related engineering field is preferred it is not required. We welcome applications from candidates seeking remote or hybrid work arrangements in locations where the Firm has offices with a strong preference for those based in or near Minneapolis Charlotte Houston or Boston.
Drawing on your experience in patent prosecution you will play a key role in building and managing both U.S. and international patent portfolios. Working as part of a collaborative and solutions-focused team you will contribute to drafting and prosecuting patent applications conducting due diligence reviews and performing freedom-to-operate and patent landscape analyses. This position is ideal for a team player who is eager to partner with colleagues and clients to navigate complex intellectual property challenges and uncover strategic opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution along with an undergraduate degree in engineering. A background in mechanical electrical biomedical computer science or a related engineering field is preferred. Strong academic credentials excellent analytical abilities and polished writing skills are essential for success in this role. Registration to practice before the USPTO is strongly preferred.
