About the role

Join Enervens growing HV Commissioning team!

Enerven has grown rapidly from a local South Australian business into a national player and were just getting started. Our role in the electricity network transition is expanding delivering innovative electrical infrastructure and telecommunication solutions while establishing ourselves as a leading HV contractor in the renewables space.

This growth means exciting opportunities across our business. Our Commissioning Department is now a key focus with investment in resources and capability to strengthen our technical expertise.

As a HV Field Commissioning Officer youll be at the forefront of ensuring high-voltage systems operate safely and reliably. Youll perform pre-energisation testing and verification on new and upgraded equipment preventing costly failures minimising downtime ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and protecting personnel and assets. Your work will directly contribute to efficient project delivery build client trust and safeguard the businesss reputationmaking you a critical part of Enervens success.

Youll gain hands-on experience with a variety of challenging projects including renewable energy installations substations and transmission networks. Day to day you will:

Lead the planning and execution of commissioning activities for E&I systems.
Conduct and manage Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for new and refurbished systems.
Drive quality safety and compliance with Australian and international standards.
Review designs and provide technical input to project and engineering teams.
Develop commissioning procedures test plans and completion records.
Coordinate with SCADA controls and mechanical teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Support fault finding and issue resolution during commissioning activities.
Conduct pre-commissioning tests and commission primary and secondary equipment within substations.
Prepare and maintain FAT and SAT documentation for upcoming installations.
Produce accurate drawing markups and documentation to capture system changes and support project closeouts at the end of the project lifecycle.


You could be based in SA Qld NSW ACT or VIC. This role involves working on projects across different sites and states which will require occasional periods of living away from home. While not every assignment will require travel you will need to be comfortable spending time on-site at various locations as project demands dictate. Flexibility and a willingness to be mobile for key project phases are essential.


About you

Were looking for HV Commissioning Officers to join our team to play a key role in delivering some of Australias largest electrical infrastructure projects. With pathways into project leadership commissioning management and specialist technical and engineering roles Enerven offers the chance to grow your expertise and shape your future.

Essential requirements include:

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering an Associate Diploma in Engineering or an Electrical Trade Certificate
A current Electrical Licence
Proven expertise in electrical and instrumentation commissioning in High Voltage Environment.
Perform secondary system testing including Omicron or similar protection and control testing units and work with IEC 61850 communication-based substation automation systems.
Strong knowledge of Australian Standards including AS/NZS 3000 AS/NZS 4761 AS 61508/61511 (functional safety)
Experience supporting commissioning teams in brownfield and greenfield environments
Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) processes
Strong technical writing skills for commissioning plans procedures ITPs and records
Proven ability to manage safety-critical commissioning activities with strong risk awareness
Ability to collaborate effectively with mechanical process SCADA and construction teams
