We have two full-time opportunities one on a permanent basis and one on a fixed term contract for a period of 6 months which existing civil servants can apply for on a loan basis. Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites. We are currently implementing a flexible hybrid way of working with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role this can flex up to 12 days a month with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency enhance and improve the health of millions of people every day through the effective regulation of medicines and medical devices underpinned by science and research.
Strategic Programme Delivery oversees the governance and performance of programmes and projects that are delivering strategic change for the Agency ensuring compliance to standards and best practice for programme and project delivery. The team is responsible for managing service transformation execution change delivery performance financial performance benefits and risk performance for these programmes and projects. The team are responsible for ensuring projects realise the benefits of our Operating Model and drive modernisation automation and risk proportionality throughout the Agency. Furthermore it will develop and build the capability to deliver a culture of continuous improvement through further phases of growth. It is also responsible for alignment with the strategic change objectives of the agency and plays a critical role in bringing all key stakeholders into the journey so that they are represented and understand the vision for the Agency.
This role will support the Head of Strategic Programme Management to drive the Agencys activities associated with delivering new transformed services across the agency. You will manage delivery progress interdependencies benefits realisation risks and issues. The role will focus on a defined set of interdependent projects with accountability for successful delivery of programme governance and assurance monitoring progress and benefits managing programme level risks and ensuring the business readiness for change milestones.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and Scheduling Ensure systems are in place to enable effective planning and scheduling.
Monitoring and Reporting Manage project controls reporting on the project status. Develop project performance reports.
Governance Support Ensure organisational tasks are carried out efficiently. Manage compliance of the project with Departmental Security Health & Safety Equality & Diversity Business Continuity and Business Planning.
Resources Responsible for identifying developing and deploying resources. Manage workforce planning providing information for effective decision making. Procurement of supplies and services related to project support within Delegated Financial Authority limits.
Stakeholders Manage and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Draft and sign-off correspondence.
Financial Control Manage project spend and contribute to the compilation of budgets. Contribute to the project business case.
Risks and Issues Lead potential risk areas working with others and escalating as appropriate.

Ability to anticipate potential risks handle any unanticipated problems and develop and communicate creative solutions to achieve successful resolution whilst delivering a high standard of customer service.
