General Summary:
The Intern under direction from the discipline Manager and/or project engineer applies CAD/Revit skills and design knowledge in generating engineering design documents digital models and databases.
Essential Job Functions:
- Create engineering documents using computer aided design (CAD) technology utilizing AutoCAD and/or Revit software.
- Work closely with engineers during design phase of a project to understand scope of the project information to determine design data needs and guidelines for the project.
- Provide limited design on documents and detail design documents with input from engineers.
- Make corrections and produce final documents for engineers review. Check for integration of sections and coordination of disciplines. Work with engineers to resolve document coordination and production problems.
- Reproduce documents upon request.
- May produce drawings and digital design models in 3D software applications.
- Deploy team oriented problem solving.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Employment Qualifications:
Education:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Masters degree in an engineering discipline at an accredited university. Students should have completed at least (2) years of classes.
Experience:
- Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus
Skills/Competencies:
- Working proficiency in design software applications (Revit AutoCAD)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)
- Capable of taking initiative; able to take direction
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
Pay and Benefits: Full-time interns receive Paid Holidays. The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.00 to $25.00. Individual pay is based on factors such as relevant experience job-related skills education and training.
