General Manager Weitsman Recycling Hornell

Location: Hornell New York
Employment Type: Full Time
Salary: $65000 to $70000

Weitsman Recycling a leader in the scrap metal recycling industry seeks a highly organized loyal and proven General Manager to oversee our state of the art recycling facility. This critical role will manage all operational aspects foster a positive and efficient work culture and drive the companys growth and profitability. We are looking for a strategic leader with deep industry expertise and a proven record of successful management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Vision: Provide strategic direction and motivational leadership to the facility team. Create a collaborative high energy work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth workflow across departments. Develop and implement strategies to maximize productivity while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgeting forecasting and financial planning to achieve profitability goals. Analyze performance metrics identify cost saving opportunities and implement effective financial strategies.
  • Client and Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients suppliers and customers. Address inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure complete satisfaction.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure full compliance with all industry regulations and environmental standards. Champion a safe workplace through proactive policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and execute long term plans to expand market presence capitalize on industry trends and drive business growth.
  • Team Development: Recruit train and mentor a high performing team. Set clear performance objectives conduct regular reviews and provide ongoing coaching to foster professional excellence.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration Management or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior management role within the scrap metal recycling or related industry with a demonstrated history of leadership and operational success.
  • Industry Expertise: In depth knowledge of scrap metal recycling operations market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership: Exceptional ability to lead motivate and inspire diverse teams to achieve organizational goals with a proven record of loyalty and organizational skills.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a focus on data driven decision making and results oriented strategies.
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees clients and customers.
