Nurse Practitioners at NEW Health are key members of our primary care team. These positions are fully onsite at our North End location. Each NP manages their own patient panel typically 300-900 patients and provides comprehensive care that includes chronic disease management preventive services and same day access for urgent needs. They work closely with physicians behavioral health providers community health workers nurses and support staff to deliver coordinated team-based care that is accessible and patient-centered.
Located on historic Hanover Street in Bostons North End this site serves a patient population that is primarily English-speaking between the ages of 25 and 55 and generally has a moderate to high level of health literacy. Our North End site offers accessible high-quality care in a close-knit community setting with a strong focus on continuity preventive health and chronic disease management.
Position requires working Tues & Thurs until 8p and Sat 8a-12p
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years NP experience both pediatric & adult patients strongly preferred
OB experience preferred
Job Summary
SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations including those with medical and/or surgical conditions as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions developing appropriate plans of care and conducting ongoing evaluations.

Essential Functions
-Provides direct care counseling and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory inpatient operative and/or procedural settings.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders interprets and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic laboratory and physical examination findings.
-Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes procedure notes operative notes and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.

Experience
Experience as a Nurse Practitioner 0-1 year preferred

- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
