Full-time Nights (7p-7a)

What you will do in this role:

  • Provide patient care tasks delegated by the RN including taking vital signs collecting specimens documenting care facilitating group education and monitoring patients.
  • Demonstrate effective milieu management and accompany patients to meals breaks offunit visits and appointments.
  • Report medical or psychiatric changes to the RN and assist with admissions including belongings inventory visitation and vital signs.
  • Document property at admission and discharge conduct safety checks and promote a clean therapeutic environment.
  • Encourage patients with activities of daily living and facilitate or cofacilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.
  • Apply crisis intervention and deescalation techniques and maintain knowledge of program policies and procedures.
  • Provide orientation and mentorship to new staff members serve as a preceptor and train colleagues on group facilitation and maintaining a therapeutic milieu.
  • Employ therapeutic communication assess patient needs related to chemical dependency and document plans of care from admission through discharge.
  • Participate in treatment planning as part of the interdisciplinary team and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as a member of the planning team under RN direction and acts as a resource and role model for other staff.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a psychiatric health care facility with direct experience working with chemical dependency dual diagnosis psychiatric and geriatric
  • patients preferred.
  • Will require valid drivers license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) along with proof of insurance when using personal or hospital owned vehicle.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
    Must be at least 21 years of age.
