Commissioning Engineers play a vital role in performing Electrical and PLC software commissioning activities within the allocated cost and time scale constraints of the material-handling project. They also ensure the commissioning activities follow the correct methods and standards to meet the requirements of the customers project.

Main Job Objectives:

Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meetingexceeding our safety quality On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
To commission controls systems on-site including electrical and PLC software commissioning and to provide support to system test activities and training for the end user
To produce commissioning documentation including but not limited to commissioning checklists test specifications Method Statements and Risk Assessments for Automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.
To interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
Ensure systems supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.
Commission Safety Related Part of the Controls system solutions to the regulations and in accordance with BS EN ISO 13849/13850/60204 etc.

To liaise with other Company Departments Customers and sub-contractors.
To maintain and use wherever possible Dematic standards.

To promote personal and business continuous improvement and development of processes to achieve improved time cost and quality or project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

HNC or HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering.
Experience with electrical commissioning activities.
Experience with PLC commissioning activities would be an advantage but not essential to this position as we would look to invest in your development here.
An understanding of automated warehouses is desirable not essential.
Hands-on experience with Electrical commissioning.
Exposure to PLC HMI or SCADA development activities would be an advantage but not essential.
Ability to understand Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
Good understanding of bus systems
Understanding of distributed control systems is desirable not essential.
Role will require extensive travel to customer sites up to 80% within the EMEA European region including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties.
Full drivers license to support the travel requirements of the role.
Possibility to be home base.
Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering
