Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains sits one of the oldest community colleges in Colorado Arapahoe Community College. TRIO Student Support Services is a federally funded program that serves students to overcome obstacles to education including limited income first generation to college and disability. The primary objective of this position is to increase the persistence graduation and transfer of SSS participants. The TRIO Student Success Advisor provides leadership for the TRIO program through development of programming is responsible for assigned program administrative functions and budget functions that support student programs along with providing intentional and holistic advising to a cohort of SSS participants. Responsible for data tracking and developing the Department of Education annual progress report. The TRIO Student Success Advisor represents the office across ACC.
The strongest candidate will be comfortable leaning into the following characteristics:
Passion for Student Support & Advocacy: Deep commitment and knowledge of working with first-generation low-income and students with disabilities.
Partnering Skills: Ability to build trust with students faculty and staff.
Programming skills: Ability to proactively plan organize and engage students in academic support transfer awareness and cultural activities.
