Job Description
Summary
Great Southern Wood Preserving Inc. makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine is seeking a Reman laborer. This position will be responsible for building material from a list prepared by the plant manager to be shipped and affixing labels to packs of lumber. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.
Essential Duties:
- Observes all safety requirements including Personal Protective Equipment.
- Stacks lumber or other wood products.
- Keeps remanufacturing area clean at all times including staples cross-outs and any other damaged material.
- Loads and unloads lumber and timber from conveyors
- Measures and indicates cutting lines on lumber timber and finished goods.
- Maintains accurate record of job operations as well as up-to-date inventory.
- Ensures proper disposal of waste materials on completion of job operations.
- Sorts and arranges lumber timbers and finished goods according to sizes and grades to allow for easy identification.
- Operates sawing equipment to make precise cuts.
- Utilizes specialized equipment such as dry kilns in effectively drying lumber.
Education and/or Experience:
- No prior experience or training. High School diploma preferred.
