Responsibilities

  • Recruit educate and select volunteers
  • Establish a need for volunteer services and maintain monthly statistics
  • Develop and maintain volunteer training and orientation
  • Supervise and evaluate volunteers and maintain current personnel files
  • Provide information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services
  • Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • College degree advanced degree in human services preferred
  • 2 years experience in healthcare
  • Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care
  • Ability to organize and develop volunteer hospice personnel
