What this job involves:

Join JLLs Real Estate Management Services team as a Accounting Analyst supporting our client finance operations in Virginia. This exciting opportunity puts you at the heart of commercial real estate financial management where youll leverage your analytical expertise to drive strategic decision-making for high-profile client portfolios. Working directly with our client finance team youll play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy compliance and operational excellence while building strong stakeholder relationships.

This position offers exceptional growth potential within JLLs dynamic environment combining technical accounting skills with client service excellence to deliver measurable business impact in the evolving commercial real estate landscape.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Prepare comprehensive journal entries in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 842) manage month-end accruals and perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance

Monitor and maintain lease accounting compliance across diverse property portfolios by reviewing lease documentation identifying potential compliance issues and implementing corrective measures

Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing budget-to-actual performance and support forecasting initiatives to identify cost optimization opportunities and financial trends

Serve as the primary client liaison building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with project managers and key stakeholders to deliver exceptional financial services and support

Develop and deliver customized financial reporting solutions including ad hoc analysis data extraction and specialized reports tailored to evolving client requirements

Provide responsive analytical support for special projects and complex assignments demonstrating adaptability while executing detailed financial analysis and strategic recommendations

Ensure all financial reporting meets stringent client requirements and deadlines while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professional presentation

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance from an accredited institution

1-2 years of relevant accounting experience or financial analysis in a professional environment

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including expertise with pivot tables VLOOKUP SUMIF functions and complex data manipulation

Demonstrated experience working with computer-based accounting systems and financial software platforms

Strong analytical organizational and project coordination abilities with proven track record of managing multiple priorities

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management and reporting

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

Real estate property management or commercial real estate accounting experience

Knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standards and implementation

Experience with lease administration software or property management systems

Previous client service or account management experience in professional services environment

Familiarity with financial forecasting and budgeting processes

Professional accounting certifications or pursuit of CPA designation

Experience working in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment with multiple stakeholders
