POSITION SUMMARY:
The Shop Foreman is responsible for managing shop workflow organization and overall cleanliness to ensure efficient operations cost control and customer satisfaction. This role oversees in-shop services such as equipment evaluations and repairs enforces safety standards coordinates with other departments and supports daily operations through inventory oversight and facility maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Shop Operations and Workflow Management
- Direct daily shop workflow reviewing repair schedules with branch management to ensure efficiency and compliance with standards.
- Perform or assign evaluations and repairs on customer equipment including batteries chargers and other shop-serviced items.
- Prepare repair quotes (including warranty work) in electronic test papers for management approval and customer submission.
- Use SAP for quotes sales order processing and inventory transfers.
- Ensure warehouse items are tagged labeled and stored properly.
- Complete or verify Shipping Check Lists (SCLs) and Receiving Check Lists (RCLs) for repairs rentals and new equipment.
- Oversee preparation and shipment of scrap materials.
Inventory Management
- Conduct quarterly inventory checks and maintain accurate counts of batteries chargers cells and major warehouse parts.
- Coordinate with the Parts Department to order and replenish repair parts and supplies.
- Track stock and complete SAP transfers between the parts cage and service vehicles.
- Monitor shop tools and equipment ensuring proper upkeep and functionality.
Facility and Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the shop warehouse and grounds.
- Schedule and/or perform routine maintenance of shop equipment.
- Oversee truck fleet management ensuring vehicles are maintained and compliant.
- Supervise daily shop and yard cleaning including routine upkeep of outside areas.
Safety and Compliance
- Participate in regular safety training and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure team members comply with required PPE use in the shop.
- Maintain safe working conditions reporting any unsafe acts or environments to management.
- Conduct lead and zinc screenings in accordance with OSHA requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Mentor service personnel in repair practices safety and quality standards.
- Assist with shop or facility improvement projects.
- Serve as backup for field technicians by performing preventive maintenance (PM) and surveys.
- Provide support to the Rental and Used Fleet technician with repairs or coverage as needed.
- Handle deliveries and service calls when staffing shortages occur.
- Manage technician uniform inventory and coordinate with the uniform route representative to ensure timely pickup and replacement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum: Qualified PowerCare Specialist
- Forklift Certification
- Class B CDL with Air-Brakes and Hazmat endorsement (or willingness to obtain within set timeframe)
- Clean motor vehicle record and insurability
- Consent to random drug and alcohol testing as a CDL driver
- Annual Lead and Zinc Screenings per OSHA guidelines
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds from a standing position
- Ability to push or maneuver a battery transfer cart with loads up to 2000 pounds
- Ability to stand and work for up to four hours without a break
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and warehouse conditions (additional PPE provided as required)
PPE REQUIREMENTS

- Uniforms (laundered by contracted service)
- Task-specific PPE per OSHA guidelines
Employee Provided:
- Water-resistant steel-toed or composite safety boots with non-slip tread covering the ankle
- Annual boot reimbursement available under current policy
