English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher

Reports to: Assistant Head of School for Academics

Department: Elementary and Middle School

Job Status: 1-2 hours per week Hours must fall within the school day: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Position Summary:

Benchmark School is seeking a qualified and compassionate part-time ELL (English Language Learner) Teacher to support a small number of multilingual learners with English language development. This role is ideal for an experienced educator looking to make a meaningful impact in a flexible limited-hour position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and/or language support to ELL students (1-2 hours weekly).
• Assess language proficiency and monitor student progress.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure instructional alignment and student success.
• Maintain brief documentation of services and student progress.
• Communicate as needed with families and staff about student language development.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with ESL/ELL endorsement (preferred).
• Experience working with English language learners in a school setting.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Additional Information:

• This is a contracted or hourly position.
• The schedule is flexible within the school day (8 AM - 3 PM) to be arranged with school leadership.
