Job Summary: The Athletic Department at Bethune Cookman University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Track & Field Coach (Womens Sprints Hurdles Relays and Recruiting Coordinator). The Assistant Track & Field Coach (Womens Sprints Hurdles Relays and Recruiting Coordinator) position will participate in the preparation coordination practice and meet preparation and execution of practice plans during the academic year. The position is responsible for the identification research of and communication with prospective student-athletes during the course of the calendar year. The assistant coach will also assist in the academic personal and career mentoring of student-athletes. This position will have primary coaching responsibilities in the sprints hurdles and multi events while also supporting in other event areas as needed. Applicants must have NCAA Division I coaching experience in the multi event areas. Expertise in other event areas is valued. Additional responsibilities include daily operations recruiting fundraising community service alumni outreach and additional related tasks as assigned by the head coach.
Duties/Responsibilities: Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of coaching program team management planning and executing training practices and meets. * Must be able to coach the all sprints hurdles and relay events. Have knowledge of successful strength & conditioning program relevant to events * Must be able and willing to aid in all levels of prospective student-athlete recruitment with a primary focus on relays and sprints events. * Participate in professional electronic phone and interpersonal communication to individual players administrators and recruits. *Participate in professional development.
Education and Experience: Bachelors degree required; experience as a collegiate athlete previous collegiate or high school coaching experience USATF Level I Coaching Certification strong knowledge of NCAA SWAC and rules and regulations along with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills Experience and Education: Division I experience as an athlete and/or coach.
