Job Description
This role is responsible for the construction installation maintenance and support of the street lighting distribution system and all related infrastructure components. The position supports the safe and reliable operation of overhead and underground electrical systems.
This position is designated as Essential Personnel requiring availability during public emergencies hazardous conditions or inclement weather. Work may also include nights weekends holidays and on-call shifts as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to

Installing overhead and underground wires and cables.

Making terminations and installing transformers and poles.

Troubleshooting electrical distribution grids and substations.

Performing pole climbing and working in confined spaces.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-
Knowledge of OSHA and electrical safety regulations.

Experience working with high-voltage utility systems.

Knowledge of electricity wiring circuits transformers cables and power lines.

Experience maintaining streetlight circuits.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Ability to work safely at significant heights and around high/low voltage wires.

Strong judgment and troubleshooting skills to resolve problems effectively.

Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

Effective communication skills.
Minimum Training and Experience
-
High school diploma or GED with specialized vocational training.
-
Journeyman/Lineman card required.
-
Two years of experience working with high-voltage power lines.
-
Equivalent combinations of training and experience may be considered.
