Context & Objective
The Data Governance & Architecture team is responsible for designing and implementing a future-proof end-to-end data value chain for APG Asset Management. This includes defining principles best practices and architectural designs that ensure data is scalable high-quality and aligned with enterprise goals. We act as expert advisors in this domain.
Over the past few weeks we have conducted an as-is analysis of the current Data Platform. This analysis provides insight into how the platform and data products are currently structured and identifies key areas for improvement. These improvements aim to enhance scalability and data quality in alignment with our reference end-state architecture and data governance agreements.
The findings from this analysis emphasize the urgency to develop a Data Reference Architecture in the upcoming PI. This architecture will serve as the foundation for targeted platform improvements starting in Q1 next year following newly established patterns and best practices. This reference architecture prescribes principles patterns (data) capabilities and (technology) standards.
Role Description: Data Architect
To support this initiative we are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join the Data Governance & Architecture team within the Data Office. This external role will be involved in defining and implementing the future-proof reference data architecture designs and principles.
As a Data Architect you will help gather requirements design and realize an integrated end-to-end data value chain that ensures timely stable and continuous data delivery in line with the APG AM Data Strategy and requirements from our data users. You will ensure full alignment between data architecture and enterprise architecture.
Assignment Scope
The primary objective of this assignment is to create the Data Reference Architecture in collaboration with our internal Data Architects. We are looking for an experienced professional with deep expertise in Data Architecture and a strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture capable of kick-starting and guiding the development of our reference architecture in line with APG AMs Data Strategy business objectives and industry best practices.
Duration: initially 3 months (potentially extended)
ResponsibilitiesDesign develop and manage future-proof data architecture frameworks and emerging technologies and market trends into architectural improvements and innovation architectural designs within cloud environments particularly closely with Data Architects and Data Modelers to develop the Data Reference and mentor team members elevating architectural maturity across the with stakeholders at various levels to ensure alignment and buy-in.
Required Experience & SkillsUniversity-level education with a degree in Business Economics Computer Science or a related field. Proven experience in both Enterprise Architecture and Data Architecture with a track record of leading architecture organizational awareness perseverance and a proactive working in Agile SCRUM teams; familiarity with the SAFe framework is a -depth knowledge of Azure and Databricks including best practices. For example Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305).Demonstrated experience in developing reference architectures for both Enterprise and Data domains preferably within the financial sector. Strong conceptual data modeling skills.
10 to 15 years of recent experience in a similar role preferably within the financial sector.
