What you will do:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will possess experience in wiring harness design and fabrication within the aerospace industry and requires strong technical expertise in electrical engineering a deep understanding of wiring systems and hands-on experience with harness fabrication processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design prototype and test electrical systems for aerospace applications ensuring the highest levels of performance safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design development and optimization of electrical wiring harnesses for aerospace systems ensuring all designs meet industry standards and project requirements
Oversee/perform the fabrication and assembly of electrical wiring harnesses ensuring proper selection of materials and components for maximum reliability and performance
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers assisting with complex technical challenges and promoting best practices in wiring harness design and fabrication
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical systems etc.) to ensure seamless integration of electrical harnesses into the overall aerospace system
Lead testing activities and troubleshoot wiring systems to ensure functionality compliance with safety standards and durability in extreme aerospace environments
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including wiring diagrams technical reports and design specifications
Ensure all designs meet relevant aerospace and electrical industry standards (e.g. MIL-STD DO-160 AS9100) and work with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
Stay updated on new technologies and industry trends in wiring harnesses and aerospace systems incorporating innovative solutions to improve efficiency cost-effectiveness and performance
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
5 years experience in electrical engineering with a focus on wiring harness design and fabrication in the aerospace industry
Expertise in wiring harness design software (e.g. SOLIDWORKS Electrical Zuken E3 AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools)
Proficiency in cabling connectors and electrical systems integration
In-depth knowledge of aerospace standards (MIL-STD DO-160 etc.) and reliability testing
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex electrical systems and troubleshoot issues
Experience with environmental testing for aerospace applications (vibration thermal etc.)
Familiarity with SOLIDWORKS or other aerospace CAD tools is a plus
Strong verbal and written communication skills capable of working in a team environment and presenting technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Certified Professional Engineer (PE) or similar certifications (preferred)
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $135000-$175000 per year depending on previous experience. Pay ranges are determined by role level location and alignment with market data. Individual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: interviews and an assessment of several factors that are unique to each candidate job-related skills relevant education and experience certifications abilities of the candidate and internal equity.
