Closing deals is quite a challenge especially when a transaction marks the beginning of a fundamental change process such as integration or separation of a part of a company. To make a transaction successful clear strategic and financial goals achievable deadlines and plans and insight into the effects for internal and external stakeholders are crucial. We are seeking a driven (Senior) Associate Finance in Deals.

What will you be doing

The Delivering Deal Value (DDV) team is part of our Deals practice. We help (private equity) companies to determine quantify and optimize transaction value faster with more insight and confidence.

Thanks to our unique experience in this sector and with transactions we know both in the pre and post-transaction phase what to look for at the client and how to resolve potential issues. Our approach is based on years of field experience regarding what does and doesnt work in certain industries.

Our key services include:

  • Operational and IT due diligence identifying key opportunities and risks

  • Operational restructuring and rapid value creation creating value through rapid operational improvements

  • Divestiture maximizing return based on divestment

  • M&A integration achieving successful integration

In your role and responsibilities as Senior Associate Finance Excellence in Deals you will advise our clients in all their finance management-related challenges at the deal; such as establishing the target operating model being in control from day 1 enabling consolidation preparing closing reports and 100-day planning monitoring synergy developments and performance improvement post-transaction.

You will conduct quantitative analyses and financial modeling using benchmarking and process mapping techniques. You will assess the clients financial history and expected future performance.

Furthermore you will conduct business development activities including identifying and targeting potential opportunities. You will maintain contact with multiple stakeholders both external and internal. Additionally you will prepare client presentations pitch documents and industry-specific research.

Besides your technical tasks you will regularly interact with various clients. You possess strong communication skills and the flexibility needed to adapt to different environments.

Does this describe you

We are looking for strong financial professionals who have an affinity with (deals-) consultancy or operational performance improvement. You are ready for a new step and want to work at the intersection of operations and finance in a dynamic deals environment (both pre and post-deal). You possess excellent analytical skills combined with a client-focused approach. Additionally you meet the following criteria:

  • You have 2-3 years of experience in finance for example at a Big 4 firm or M&A boutique or in finance consulting/transformation at a company (e.g. CIO department).

  • You have proven expertise and experience in a financial role demonstrating your knowledge and affinity for both financial processes and large transformations such as restructurings transactions or mergers.

  • You have a completed Masters degree in Finance (Business) Economics Accounting & Control Business Administration or similar financial-related studies

  • You are assertive open-minded enthusiastic and flexible

  • Knowledge of financial software and/or apps business modeling process mapping tools and data analytics are a plus

  • You have excellent skills in English (both spoken and written) and preferably Dutch as well
