SUMMARY: A Hospital Patient Registrar III is responsible for greeting and registering patients as they arrive at the hospital. This role ensures that all patient information is accurately collected entered in the hospitals system and maintained confidentially. The registrar will verify insurance information explain admission processes and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed. Responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage obtaining necessary authorizations for all admissions. This role ensures that all patient services are pre-approved by insurance companies and that proper documentation is in place to avoid any delays in patient care. Registrar III works closely with members of her team training and ensures the process is followed and completed. Works with healthcare providers insurance companies and patients to facilitate the authorization process. The Registrar III will cover calls when needed This position will also ensure that scheduling of training is completed and employees are competent.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Communicate with insurance companies to confirm coverage details request authorizations and resolve any issues related to patient services.

Maintain accurate records of authorizations ensuring that all required information is documented in the patients electronic medical record (EMR).

Contact patients to inform them of authorization statuses explain insurance requirements and address any concerns

regarding their coverage.

Work closely with physicians nurses and other healthcare providers to ensure that all necessary authorizations and referrals are in place before patient appointments or procedures.

Address and resolve any issues that may arise during the authorization or referral process including denied claims or delayed approvals.

Ensure all authorization activities comply with hospital policies insurance requirements and relevant regulations including HIPAA.

Generate and maintain reports related to authorizations and insurance approvals as required.

Greet and register patients as they arrive ensuring that all required information is accurately recorded in the hospitals database.

Enter patient demographics Accurately insurance details and other relevant information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Assist patients in completing required forms ensuring that all documents are signed and properly filed.

Provide patients with information regarding hospital policies procedures and services. Answer any questions they may have about their admission.

EDUCATIONAL: High School Diploma plus two years experience. Computer literacy to include ability to become proficient in the use the EHI system to access and enter information and run reports required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must have two-year Moore County Registrar Experience and 5 years Healthcare setting.

Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast paced sometimes emotionally-charged environment of rapidly changing priorities and written and verbal communication skills are also necessary.
