Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Patient Account Specialist Senior to join our team in Lake Charles LA. In this role you will play a key part in ensuring accurate medical collections reimbursement and account resolution within a hospital business office environment.
If you have strong experience with inpatient and outpatient billing (UB-04 and HCFA 1500 forms) and a proven background in insurance collections and claims resolution we want to hear from you!
Schedule: Regular Hours (Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm)
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Patient Account Specialist Senior you will:
- Manage insurance collections from commercial government and third-party payers to ensure proper reimbursement.
- Research and resolve denied or underpaid claims while meeting payer turnaround timelines.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of payer claim processes provider contracts appeal procedures and payment methodologies.
- Work with explanation of benefits (EOBs) online payer portals and standard billing forms.
- Identify and report issues or trends impacting account resolution and reimbursement.
- Provide medical collection services for TLRA collection units with professionalism and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with patients clients vendors and external entities while ensuring patient satisfaction.
- Document and update patient accounts accurately to support efficient account resolution.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a multi-facility hospital business office environment
- Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient billing requirements
- Strong background in insurance collections and medical billing
- Proficiency in account reconciliation and claims processing
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity goals
