Job Description

REQURIED: unlimited steam boiler license at time of submittal TITLE: Stationary Engineer Potential contact to hire. Shift You can be open to any change 1st 2nd or 3rd but you must have weekend availability. Interview -virtual to start. POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for maintaining and operating electrical generators boilers HVAC equipment and water treatment systems. May work as an unlimited stationary engineer. SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED Knowledge of hazardous materials (HVAC and Boiler systems) Good verbal and written communication skills EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING Required: LA City Steam Engineers Unlimited License LA City Fire Card within 2 weeks of employment. 2-Year experience in a Hospital power plant DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Safeguards and preserves the confidentiality of patient s protected health information in accordance with State and Federal (HIPAA) regulatory requirements hospital and departmental policies. 2. Ensures a safe patient environment and adherence to safety practices per policy. 3. With consideration to age employee utilizes the approved process to resolve biophysical psychological educational and environmental needs of patient/significant other when administering care. 4. Demonstrates proficiency in all types of plant maintenance. 5. Posts status on all equipment and work being performed at all times. 6. Accurately monitors plant activity and equipment status. 7. Accurately documents readings on equipment and status indicators. 8. Ensures safe and efficient operation of all equipment. 9. Safely mixes and handles materials used for the treatment of water systems. 10. Plans daily workload and ensures that all preventative maintenance is completed and documented in appropriate records. 11. Accurately completes forms inspection sheets and logs based on daily and monthly requirements. 12. Maintains a clean and orderly central plant. 13. Assigns evening and weekend shift work as needed. 14. Responds appropriately to emergency code in a timely and prudent manner 15. Maintains a safe physical environment for guest and co-workers. Behavior: Performance is acceptable when the initiative is taken to maintain a clean and safe environment. I conduct myself in a manner which respects and preserves equipment and the physical plant. I do not walk by spills trash or unsafe conditions without assuring that they are attended to promptly by me or appropriate personnel. PERSONAL QUALITIES Consistently projects a positive professional image through appearance and behavior and adheres to the hospital dress code. Demonstrates behaviors that promote enhance and encourage collaborative relationships with members of the team. Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to perform additional duties when needs arise. Reports to work on time and as scheduled completes work within designated time. PHYSICAL DEMANDS 1. Must be able to utilize correct body mechanics during performance of physical activity such as pushing/pulling stooping squatting sitting and lifting as applicable to the position.
