Production Engineer

The global sub-chapter Production Engineering - Change Services is part of the global Engineering Chapter responsible for cost efficient reliable and lean Change Control Management (ECRs). The scope of this team is mainly on Product Care topics for established products and introduction of new products from pilot phase to commercial production. The sub-chapter brings in technical expertise to deliver successful material system process and product changes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Engineering Change Coordination (ECO):
- Responsible for planning coordinating technically assessing assigning tasks for and implementing changes (ECRs) in consultation with the Product Leader and/or Team Leader.
- Create and maintain requirement and verification documents work plans material master data and bills of materials. Provide training on the necessary documents.
- Responsible for the smooth phase-in and phase-out of changes in production.
- Analyze and track engineering Changes. Prepare information for product meetings.
- Proactively manage and communicate (escalate where necessary) to ensure Engineering Changes are completed on time.
- Ensure that requirement and verification documents as well as master data for product manufacturing are created approved and trained on time and in accordance with process and quality specifications.
- For NPIs: Support development projects and assist for example with the construction of samples and prototypes coordinate the required materials and provide feedback on manufacturability. Responsible for compliance with quality objectives deadlines and regulatory requirements.
- Active Stakeholder Management: Internal (ION): Production Product & Project Leaders Portfolio Leads Quality Assurance and External (ION): R&D GCS
Additional Responsibilities:
- Process actions resulting from deviations and ensure that internal interfaces are involved.
- Continuously optimize workflows towards a LEAN ECR service. Actively support improvement measures
- within and outside of the Engineering Chapter in consultation with the Sub-Chapter Lead.
- Lead smaller projects (e.g. KvP) assigned by the Product Lead or Sub-Chapter Lead.
- Contribute to and participate in CoPs Squads and Project Teams in consultation with the Sub-Chapter Lead.
Must Haves Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical problem solving skills
- Hands-on ability/experience with electro-mechanical and small-scale fluidic/pneumatic systems
- Root-Cause Analysis and troubleshooting skills and experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Self direction ability to own tasks and work autonomously to complete assigned investigative tasks
- Cross-functional team experience experience solvingtechnical problems of a multi-disciplinary nature
- Excellent design skills ability to develop simple solutions with minimum impact to existing design
- Good SAP knowledge proficient with MS Office Independent goal-oriented and structured working style
- Proactive approach and a strong service mindset

- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Education: Formal Training/Education: BS degree in a directly related discipline. Experience: Requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience. OR MS degree in a directly related discipline 2 years of related experience required; OR PhD degree and no experience required.
