Minimum Work Experience:
External - 3 years as a Surgical Technician and service line sign off within 1 year
Internal - 1 year as a Surgical technician and service line sign off
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Essential Functions: Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes solutions instruments equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing transporting positioning and draping patients. Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery. Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory. Performs on call services as requested. Actively participates and ensures room turn overs are efficient and timely. Assesses surgical schedule in coordination with RNs and management to ensure patient needs are met and all necessary equipment/ supplies are available.
Non-Essential Functions: Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students. Participates and attends meetings as required and/ or assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
