Pay Range: $36.55 Per Hour Paid Bi-Weekly

Bonus eligible - $2.00 shift night differential - 2/2/3 Nights

This position works independently to ensure timely effective coverage of central engineering functions. The position also provides technical process support throughout the facilities and assists in maintenance personnel supervision. The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel including the mechanically challenged is of significant importance within this position.

The Unilever Covington factory is a 24/7 high paced dynamic work environment. We achieve goals through collaborative cross functional teams in the safe and quality delivery of finished goods across the shift they are leading. Making brands such as Klondike Popsicle Breyers and Good Humor ice cream.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coach/train production employees in preventative maintenance functions and troubleshooting of machinery in order to reduce downtime and maximize efficiencies.
• Operate and maintain all engine room and other equipment including ammonia refrigeration boilers pumps compressors condensers and electrical systems. Help develop and follow established standard operating procedures for safety health environment and production.
• Identify opportunities for productivity improvements.
• Troubleshoot PLC and electrical problems making changes as needed.
• Provide ammonia engineering support.
• Complete and file all required logging for ammonia system hot work engine room and other
• records as required and complete engine room work orders as necessary.
• Help coordinate weekend maintenance functions including manufacturing and utilities.
• Other activities as assigned

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
• Experience in Food Manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to pass provided maintenance exam.
• Certification in Ammonia related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related experience
• Ability to become HAZWOPER certified.
• Ability to work with and lead teams comprised of all personnel levels.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of plant personnel.
• Experience in the maintenance of ammonia refrigeration system is required
• Read and understand instructions procedures and basic documentation
• Write simple reports and emails with correct grammar and formatting
• Perform basic math including fractions decimals percentages and unit conversions
• Inspect parts for correct size shape and alignment
• Follow detailed instructions and solve routine problems
• Use hand tools and equipment with precision and coordination
• Stand walk lift and move materials regularly
• Hear and identify machine sounds; distinguish colors for wiring and components

Work Environment:

Variable consisting of the office environment the engine room and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery and ammonia. The position may require an individual to stand stoop move equipment; bend reach or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses hearing protection and sanitary footwear.

In addition there will be exposure to allergens such as dairy eggs tree nuts coconut peanuts wheat (gluten) soybean and cinnamon. There will also be exposure to chemicals and gasses such as ammonia.
