What Youll Do

Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific position assigned to but they may include:

Logistics

  • Support daily management of all Cenovus logistical functions including fleet planning product scheduling & inventory management
  • Provide analytical support to better understand and articulate logistics movements costs and performance
  • Provide back-up to pipeline terminal truck and rail schedulers
  • Develop standard reports and respond to data requests
  • Participate in operational and planning meetings with the Logistics team and other functional groups

Market Analytics & Fundamentals

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines data models and data visualizations in Power BI and R programming language used for forward inferences and strategy formulation by Traders and Senior Management
  • Develop and maintain market analytics tools and libraries used to forecast forward supply and demand balances for refined products
  • Work as part of geographically dispersed team effectively communicating prioritized business needs and prioritized project statuses
  • Provide back-up vacation coverage to refined products market analysts on the team as assigned

Data Analytics

  • Develop and maintain standard reports ensuring timely and accurate responses to ad hoc data requests
  • Enhance performance reporting for marketing trading and scheduling teams improving data accessibility and actionable insights
  • Automate report generation and data delivery streamlining communication with key stakeholders and improving operational efficiency
  • Support economic pricing and forecasting functions by providing data-driven analysis to optimize decision-making processes
  • Conduct in-depth market studies and analysis identifying key trends and opportunities to inform business strategy
  • Perform statistical analyses to provide valuable insights into business activities supporting strategic planning and performance evaluation

Who You Are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g. work visa).
  • Available to begin work in either January 2026 or May 2026.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills specifically Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal judgement and decision-making skills.

Education

  • Must be enrolled in a Business Undergraduate Program (Finance Commerce Economics Accounting Marketing areas preferred) at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work termOR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
  • Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
  • New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
