Job Duties

To plan coordinate implement and evaluate the institutions approach to inmate reentry and cognitive community based on principles of evidence-based practices. Operations programs and services are founded on the well-established contemporary body of evidence-based practices for inmate management that complement traditional security tools and incorporate the following: effective communication; identifying inmate criminal risks and treatment needs; motivating inmate change through case plan agreements incentives and sanctions; and providing programs/services to address criminogenic needs. Also responsible for monitoring tracking and managing housing assignments; job assignments; progress; programmatic activities and review of inmates participating in the Diversionary Treatment Program which have been classified as seriously mentally ill Shared Allied Management and/or Restrictive Housing.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in counseling rehabilitation or casework management. Experience facilitating rehabilitative programs. Experience preparing reports. Working knowledge of principles and practices of counseling of casework and treatment methods of behavior modification various intervention techniques and inmate restoration rehabilitation. Demonstrated ability to counsel and interact with inmates to develop implement and follow through on treatment plans and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Additional Considerations

Advance knowledge in Social Services Counseling Criminal Justice or other areas related to human services or equivalent combination of training and experience. Previous experience working in adult counseling or corrections. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook Word and Excel). Certification in a specialized area such as Certified Substance Abuse Counselor CSAC Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider CSOTP. Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
