Secondary Geography Teacher (Full Time Ongoing)

with optional Leadership Opportunity Head of Geography (3-year tenure)

Tintern Grammar is seeking a full time ongoing Secondary Geography Teacher with the option of a Position of Responsibility as Head of Geography. We welcome applications from candidates who wish to be considered for the teaching position only as well as from those who would also like to be considered for the Head of Geography role and candidates should indicate their preference in their letter of application.

About the Role

The role requires an exceptional educator and leader who is able to teach up to VCE and who is passionate about engaging and motivating students. Proven leadership skills are essential to lead the department.

This is a full time ongoing secondary teaching position with the Position of Responsibility as Head of Geography offered for a limited tenure of 3 years effective from Term 1 2026.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and hold experience as a Head of Geography or similar role . You will demonstrate as relevant

  • Current VIT registration
  • Relevant qualifications
  • Strong leadership staff management and mentoring skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • An ability to lead and support staff through periods of curriculum and operational change
  • Strong communicationand organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and interact with both adults and student
  • Ability to support teaching staff to modify materials and curriculum for students
  • You will havedemonstrated knowledge of the subject within the VCE and Australian CurriculumFrameworkswhere relevant
  • Ensure the highest quality pastoral care for students and staff
  • You will havea desire to work collaboratively with other teachers and actively engagein the broader life of the School
  • You will encourage students to take risks within a structured school environment to make individual choices and to use new experiences as learning opportunities
  • Care and connectedness with students
  • Ability and experience to teach Geography to VCE level
