Approximately 724500 working-age adults in Ohio have not completed a high school diploma (or equivalent). Adults without a high school diploma are at a disadvantage when competing for Ohios in-demand jobs. However there are several options for earning a high school diploma including the 22 Adult High School Program Adult Diploma Program High School Equivalency Program and High School Continuation Program. Instead of measuring academic achievement through clock hours seat time or credits earned the focus is on a competency-based approach that provides adult learners opportunities todemonstrate mastery of skill such as earning industry-recognized credentials.
What Youll Do:
The Adult Options unit is seeking an intern to assist in coordinating and managing adult education resources including:
- Creates and manages adult education options programs resources using Microsoft Office
- Captures and manages stakeholder feedback in developing best practices
- Communicates relevant and accurate information clearly and concisely during formal or informal meetings
- Collaborates with others to accomplish goals
- Uses various tools and technology to prepare and share documents/reports
- Cross references data and a variety of other procedures regarding student applications
- Searches records gathers and organizes data information and summarizes on checklist
- Checks accuracy clarifies discrepancies updates information and verifies student data
- Retrieves and complies materials to fulfil information requests ensuring proper documentation was received
- Participates actively in adult education meeting with the team and the field
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Pay for undergraduate students is $20.00 hourly and $24.00 hourly for graduate students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills; desire to work as part of a team and interact with the education community.
- Interested in education and workforce development
- Experience working in a professional environment
