Retail Supervisor - Library Cafe

Job Summary:

Ithaca College Dining Services is looking for Retail Supervisor for the Library Cafe. These individuals are leaders in the units who deliver outstanding customer service help customers navigate Grubhub and support the unit in setup supply and product maintenance cleanup and closedown.

Supervision:

This position reports to the Assistant Manager for Satellite Retail.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Lead operations and student staff in day-to-day operations.
2. Provide outstanding customer service to students staff faculty and guests.
3. Greet guests with a warm friendly demeanor.
4. Fulfill customer orders via Grubhub: receive orders; complete orders accurately to customer specification and with high service rate; package orders; identify ready orders for customers and ensure their receipt of order.
5. Prepare food and beverage orders with swiftness and accuracy.
6. Model accurate safe efficient and pleasant performance expectationsfor student and temporary staff.
7. Maintain knowledge of all menu offerings including ingredients preparations and allergens.
8. Comply with HACCPregulations andprocedures.
9. Set up serving stations with all required menu items service utensils foodand beverage containers utensils condiments and items for cleaning and sanitizing.
10. Maintain clean and sanitized workstations cleaning as necessary and when required by standard operating procedures.
11. Assist guests with special requests.
12. Communicate often clearly and professionallywithco-workersand management.
13. Perform inventory stocking and requisitions as needed.
14. Learn and adhere to all food preparation guidelines established by the culinary leadership team for Ithaca College Dining Services.
15. Develop and demonstrate a multicultural awareness and cultivate an inclusive diverse and respectful Ithaca College community. Demonstrate civil and inclusive behavior when interacting with staff faculty students and visitors to the College. Promote a flexible collaborative and inclusive work and living environment and engage in educational opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of diversity and inclusion.

RequiredQualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and six monthsprevious experience working in a food service operation or other relevant setting.
• Excellent customer serviceaptitude.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service while working effectively and respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights weekends overtime and some holidays.
• The position is considered to be essential during emergency situations and the incumbent is subject to being requested to report to work.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional education and barista/cashier experience preferred.
• ServSafeCertification.
• Working knowledge of food preparation procedures and equipment proper sanitationand HACCP procedures.

This position is 40 hours per week 52 weeks per year.
