About Organization

The RAN Operations Department operates from Japan and India with over 90 people working across different sub-departments (Sections). Its main goal is to keep the radio network consisting of 350000 cells available to provide services to customers.

Our Service Experience Centre (SXC) is a division that contains experts with diverse skill sets providing remote support for multiple networks across various geographies from one central location.

The RAN Advance Support Team within SXC oversees anticipating problems and solving issues that cannot be resolved by the Fault Management team in the RAN domain. This team proactively identifies problems and is accountable for their resolution. Issues requiring Level 3/Dev (R&D) support are handled here following the necessary vendor interface processes. It also provides Resolution Management and root cause analysis utilizing resources to resolve complex incidents. Advance Support is technology-specific meaning there is a dedicated team for each technology (e.g. 4G 5G Indoor Small Cell).

Job Duties

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced RAN SME to support virtualized RAN (vRAN) operations across LTE and 5G technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end system operations incident and problem management preventive maintenance and performance optimization.

This role requires strong technical expertise in telecom systems Linux environments and cloud-native technologies along with excellent coordination and communication skills across global teams. Extended support during off-hours and weekends is expected for critical network events. Experience with cloud-native platforms like Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.

1. Troubleshoot complex network issues using detailed call flow analysis.
2. Perform preventive maintenance and health checks to ensure network stability.
3. Handle incidents and lead problem management for long-term resolution.
4. Identify and resolve bugs in 4G/5G Open RAN products across multiple vendors.
5. Upgrade RAN network elements and validate cross-version compatibility.
6. Use Linux systems for diagnostics scripting and log analysis.
7. Develop MOPs/SOPs based on operational experience and governance inputs.
8. Design closed-loop automation by understanding end-to-end system behavior.
9. Monitor and optimize network performance using AI/ML analytics tools.
10. Possess hands-on experience with Kubernetes Docker and cloud-native platforms.
11. Coordinate with vendors and product teams for feature releases and support.
12. Work closely with field teams to prioritize remote recovery and reduce site visits.
13. Ensure multi-vendor interoperability through testing and validation.
14. Support integration of RAN Intelligent Controllers (RIC) for optimization.
15. Assist in scaling Open RAN deployments with robust configuration planning.
16. Contribute to Open RAN security across software and hardware layers.
17. Conduct regular Knowledge transfer session to Monitoring / L1 FM / Field Teams and colleagues within L2 Team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Electronics Computer Science or related field.

  • 510 years of experience in RAN operations with exposure to LTE/5G technologies.

  • Strong understanding of LTE architecture and call flows.

  • Hands-on experience in Linux environments.

  • Good communication and coordination skills across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in virtualized/Open RAN operations across LTE and 5G.

  • Experience with Kubernetes Docker and cloud-native platforms.

  • Exposure to AI/ML-based performance analytics and automation frameworks.

  • Experience in multi-vendor environments and interoperability testing.

  • Familiarity with SMO RIC integration and O-RAN standard compliance.

  • Proven track record in incident handling problem management and preventive maintenance.
