The Director of Construction is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the planning execution and delivery of all construction projects to ensure they are completed on time within budget and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in construction management project leadership and cross-functional collaboration. The Director will work closely with the Interior Design Director to align construction timelines with design milestones evaluate design feasibility and maintain the seamless integration of design and construction efforts. This role involves managing project teams engaging with internal and external stakeholders and ensuring all construction activities are compliant with industry regulations and aligned with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategic Oversight
- Provide overall leadership to the construction department including setting vision direction and standards.
- Develop and implement construction strategies that align with the companys long-term objectives.
- Act as the primary liaison with executive leadership on construction progress performance and resource needs.
- Integrated Project Management
- Oversee all phases of construction from pre-construction through final delivery ensuring seamless integration with design objectives.
- Align construction timelines with interior design schedules ensuring feasibility and quality.
- Lead project planning budgeting scheduling and forecasting.
- Monitor project milestones proactively manage risks and implement corrective actions to ensure success.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit lead and mentor a high-performing team of project managers engineers and construction personnel.
- Foster a collaborative inclusive and results-driven culture that encourages innovation and accountability.
- Support the professional development of team members through coaching training and performance evaluations.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement
- Collaborate with architects engineers designers contractors and subcontractors to resolve challenges and ensure alignment.
- Manage relationships with clients vendors and key stakeholders to ensure transparency trust and high-quality outcomes.
- Communicate progress reports expectations and changes to stakeholders regularly.
- Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance
- Establish and enforce strict quality control standards and procedures.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure work meets company regulatory and safety standards.
- Promote and uphold a culture of safety and compliance across all job sites.
- Financial & Resource Management
- Create and manage comprehensive construction budgets for each project.
- Track expenditures approve change orders and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising project integrity.
- Risk Management & Contingency Planning
- Anticipate potential risks such as supply chain issues labor shortages or site constraints.
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to maintain project continuity.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering Architecture or a related field Required and Masters Degree Preferred
- 10 years in construction management required
- 5 years as a senior leader required
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale complex projects from concept through completion required
- Proven experience managing teams budgets schedules and stakeholder communications required
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies building codes and industry regulations.
- Exceptional leadership communication and team-building skills.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in construction management tools and software such as Procore Buildertrend and MS Project.
Additional Information :
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected salary range for this position is between $137847.00 and $249126.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
