Lead Credit Risk Analyst

Contract Type: Permanent Full Time

Location Bradford Petersfield or London

The role will report into the Credit Risk Manager and will provide an invaluable opportunity to drive significant change and value for the Bank through a range of insight-providing analytical projects

Responsibilities:

  • Develop expert understanding of the customer management lifecycle including all aspects of decisioning and customer touch points.
  • Drive the optimisation of lending decisions through test and learn initiatives to identify champion strategies.
  • Investigation and development of new data sources to be used for analysis and decisioning.
  • Support business growth and portfolio profitability while ensuring a balance between risk reward and responsible lending and controlling credit quality and performance.
  • Ensure lending decisions are accurate and appropriate through close tracking and monitoring.
  • Perform inquisitive and innovative analysis and provide logical recommendations resulting in customer and /or business benefits.
  • Devise initiate and deliver complex analytical/data driven projects fully incorporating Customer and business implications throughout.
  • Responsible for automating and streamlining processes to maximise integration effectiveness and efficiency.

What Were Looking For

  • Experienced in consumer credit preferably in the sub-prime or online lending sector
  • Present both written and verbal clear and concise results using aggregated data highlighting key trends opportunities/risks and recommendations.
  • Ensure clear documentation and commented code in place for all analysis processes and tools including maintaining logs/audit trails for all changes and decisions.
  • Understand the systems where the data resides the processes by which data is collated and stored and the methods available for data retrieval.
  • Use a comprehensive understanding of the business meaning behind the data the business processes underlying the figures and any limitations of the data to drive analysis design and proposals
  • Define analytical project phases success criteria and timescales and drive projects through to implementation while engaging stakeholders throughout and considering customer impact
  • Support the testing and delivery of changes to models policy and strategy liaising with the relevant departments
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in analytical role
  • Honours Degree or equivalent in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics Statistics Operations Research or Computer Science.
  • SAS/SQL - Highly Proficient (Advanced)
  • Intermediate in all standard MS Office applications
  • Advanced level experience in decisioning systems
  • Experience in Credit Analytics
  • Experience of scorecard cut-off setting and strategy optimisation through decline rules
