Responsibilities
As our Multi Modality Technologist at CHI St. Vincent you will help capture usable diagnostic images from patients so the Radiologist can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions.
Every day you could perform any variety of imaging examinations such as x-rays ultrasound diagnostic fluoroscopy CT/CAT scans and MRIs to name a few. You will also need to enjoy working directly with people as you play a huge role in the patient experience.
To be successful in this role youll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow various patient positioning techniques and capturing precise results for timely and accurate diagnosis.
- Obtains pertinent medical history from patients by observation or with oral communication.
- Utilizes patient clinical assessment and patient clinical history in making professional judgment that supports the plan of patient care and properly documents the patient assessment and clinical history.
- Communicates clearly with patients of all ages peers and others in order to complete the hospital/physician plan of patient care.
- Provides appropriate patient care during the correct performance of radiologic procedures.
- Assist the Radiologist within the technologist scope of practice as directed by the physician.
- Participates in student clinical competency evaluation by completing:
- Weekly student evaluations.
- Evaluates student clinical competency by observing student clinical performance and documenting their competence.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Military Program or ultrasound program accredited by JRCERT.
- Registered in the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- License in the State of Arkansas
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
- 2 years of experience in general radiology minimum.
