About the opportunity

Help build the evidence base that gets equitable clinical interventions into the hands of communities across Canada and globally. The RISE Implementation Science Lab (Research in Implementation Science for Healthcare Effectiveness Engagement & Equity; ) at McGill Universitys Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences/Lady Davis Institute for Medical Research is a collaborative hub working at the intersection of implementation science public health and health equity. We lead and contribute to multi-site initiatives with the Canadian Network on Hepatitis C (implementation science co-lead) and the CIHR Pan-Canadian HIV/AIDS & STBBI Clinical Trials Research Network (methods co-lead) and partner closely with public-health agencies.

We are recruiting a Research Associate to play a central role ( 70 % effort) in the newly funded CIHR Project Grant:Consolidating Evidence for the Implementation of Decentralized Point-of-Care Testing for Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections.The remaining 30 % effort will support other knowledge synthesis and implementation science projects in the Lab (e.g. equity-focused systematic reviews living evidence hub). You will join an open-science high-energy team with quantitative and qualitative methods expertise and opportunities for leadership authorship and national/international impact.

CIHR PointofCare Testing Project (70%)

  • Orchestrate three multistage reviews (effectiveness; barriers/facilitators; implementation strategies) and codevelop a usable framework/toolkit with partners.
  • Own the review pipeline: protocols (PRISMAP/PROSPERO) comprehensive database and greyliterature searches dual screening structured data extraction and riskofbias/quality appraisal (e.g. RoB2 ROBINSI JBI).
  • Conduct quantitative syntheses (metaanalysis/metaregression in R/Stata) and/or qualitative/realist syntheses as appropriate.
  • Convene and coordinate national/international collaborators and community advisors; steward milestones and CIHR progress reporting.
  • Translate evidence into impact: draft manuscripts (first/cofirst authorship opportunities) conference abstracts policy briefs and implementation tools (logic models decision aids checklists).
  • Codesign and facilitate stakeholder workshops and integrated knowledge translation activities.

2) Additional RISE Lab projects (30%)

  • Provide methodological leadership on rapid reviews scoping reviews bibliometric analyses and realist syntheses in digital health equityfocused interventions and implementationstrategy reporting/quality.
  • Mentor graduate students and research assistants in rigorous transparent and openscience workflows (preregistration living reviews reproducible scripts data management).
  • Contribute to grant writing (CIHR/FRQ/PHAC/SSHRC) ethics submissions and datamanagement plans.

Qualifications:

  • PhD (or equivalent) in public health epidemiology health services research nursing implementation science or a related discipline.
  • Peerreviewed publication record in systematic and/or scoping reviews.
  • Proficiency with review software (e.g. Covidence/DistillerSR RevMan/R NVivo/).
  • Strong quantitative (metaanalysis in R/Stata) and/or qualitative synthesis skills.
  • Excellent scientific writing and projectmanagement skills.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.

Greattohave

  • Postdoctoral training or 2years postPhD experience in systematic reviews or knowledge translation.
  • Experience with STBBI pointofcare diagnostics or harmreduction research.
  • Familiarity with implementation frameworks (e.g. CFIR ERIC) and reporting guidance (e.g. TIDieR AACTT).
  • Experience with GRADE economic evaluation complex intervention synthesis or equityfocused appraisal.
  • French proficiency; experience engaging community or Indigenous partners.
