Job Summary
The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20000 students in the Greater Victoria Area encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service the District has a current operating budget of $260 million and employs approximately 3500 staff; which includes teachers principals and vice-principals support staff psychologists speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
Reporting to the Manager Fleet and Transportation the School Bus Driver operates a school bus to transport students in accordance with District Bus Drivers Manual NSC Safety Manual and School District Policy.
The Bus Driver Spareboard position will provide temporary coverage for a 4-hour split shift (2 hours am and 2 hours pm) plus field trips.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must have:
- Grade 12
- Valid Class 2 British Columbia Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement
- Level 1 First Aid and CPR certificate
- Minimum of 2 years bus driving experience
This position falls within the CUPE 947 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $28.86 per hour plus 13% in lieu of benefits. You can find a detailed job description here.
