This position administers and is responsible for oversight and management of the Adult Protective Services (APS) Program whose legislative mandate is to receive and evaluate reports of abuse neglect and/or exploitation of vulnerable or incapacitated adults with specific oversight of the Quality Assurance Case Closure Training Records and Central Intake/Hotline Units. The Program Administrator is responsible for managing the overarching strategy and direction of these units exercising independent action and state and out of state travel is required as is weekly in office work at 1789 W. Jefferson Street Phoenix.

This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (1-3 days per week in the office).

All work including remote work should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Knowledge of:
Applicable federal and state statutes DES and Adult Protective Services policies and procedures ADOA personnel rules and regulations and public administration
Practices and principles of budget development federal and state budgetary practices and strategic planning
Change management techniques and strategic and long-range planning
Conflict resolution and mediation techniques

Skills in:
Oral and written communication
Analysis evaluation and interpretation of fiscal data and complex financial records
Handling community and public relations; giving public presentations and trainings
Planning organizing directing coordinating and evaluating complex service programs through subordinate managers

Ability to:
Lead motivate manage direct and supervise the activities of professional staff
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with leadership division management and internal and external stakeholders
Develop evaluate implement and manage strategic plans
Exercise discretion and independent judgment
