Job Summary:
This Anesthesia Technician position requires 3-4 years of experience in pediatric cardiac and trauma cases including open-heart surgery and Level I and II trauma experience. The role involves providing anesthesia support during a variety of surgical procedures utilizing specialized equipment and collaborating with the surgical team. BLS and Certified Anesthesia Technician certifications are mandatory.
Location: Washington District of Columbia United States
Responsibilities:
- Providing anesthesia support during pediatric cardiac and trauma surgeries including open-heart procedures and Level I and II trauma cases.
- Operating and maintaining GE Anesthesia Machines and other specialized equipment.
- Assisting the anesthesiologist or CRNA during all phases of anesthesia administration.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and responding to any changes in patient condition.
- Preparing and maintaining the anesthesia equipment and supplies.
- Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of anesthesia care.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 3-4 years of experience in pediatric cardiac and trauma anesthesia.
- Open-heart and Level I & II trauma experience.
- BLS certification.
- Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer A.T) certification.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with cardiac/heart transplants kidney transplants neuro lung transplants ortho and trauma cases.
Special Considerations:
- This position requires working in a fast-paced high-pressure environment within a surgical setting. Exposure to various medical procedures and potentially infectious materials is expected.
