Job Summary:
This Registered Nurse position in a Level I trauma center requires a minimum of one year of Med/Surg experience and focuses on providing skilled nursing care to patients in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. The role involves collaboration with the interdisciplinary team patient assessments medication administration and treatment planning. Floating to other Med/Surg and similar units is required.

Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care including assessments medication administration and treatment planning.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Performing patient care procedures within scope of practice.
- Floating to other Med/Surg and similar units as needed.
- Charting in Cerner.
- Managing patients with various medical conditions (Cardiac Endocrine/Metabolic Gastrointestinal Genitourinary/Renal Neurological/Psychiatric Orthopedic trauma Respiratory).
- Utilizing various medical equipment (Telemetry Rapid Response Teams Chest tubes CPAP/BiPAP HFNC etc.).
- Administering IV therapy and blood products.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in Illinois.
- Minimum one year of Med/Surg experience.
- BLS and NIH certifications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
- Experience with telemetry rapid response teams and various medical procedures (as listed in the detailed description).
- Experience with Cerner.
- Previous charge nurse experience.
- Level I Trauma experience.
Special Considerations:
- 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM).
- Every other weekend rotation.
- Floating to other Med/Surg and similar units is required.
- No on-call requirements.
- Maximum 5-day RTO restriction.
- Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay; additional cancellations will be billed.
- Med/Surg experience is required.
Scheduling:
- 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (1845-0715).
- Every other weekend work requirement.
- Schedule requests can be discussed with the manager; block scheduling is not guaranteed but often accommodated.
