Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Director Veterinarian to lead our Denver-based veterinary practice. This role combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities including setting medical standards mentoring staff driving growth and ensuring top-quality patient and client care. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator skilled clinician and proven leader with a passion for advancing veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities:

Leading Medical Care

  • Establish and oversee medical standards protocols and best practices (wellness care surgery diagnostics anesthesia pain management dental care recordkeeping).

  • Ensure high-quality patient care and excellent client communication.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and timely charge capture.

  • Identify and implement new services to enhance care offerings.

Leading Staff and Practice

  • Assist with hiring onboarding and mentoring veterinarians and technicians.

  • Support ongoing staff training CE programs and mentorship initiatives.

  • Contribute to strategic planning budgeting and performance reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and clinic policies.

  • Lead team meetings and foster a collaborative innovative culture.

  • Supervise and coach associate veterinarians conducting case reviews and evaluations.

Financial Oversight

  • Drive revenue growth while managing expenses.

  • Assist in developing annual financial plans and budgets.

  • Monitor clinic performance and support marketing/community outreach efforts.

Primary Skills:

  • Strong clinical expertise in general medicine surgery and diagnostics.

  • Proven leadership coaching and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and client relationship-building skills.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Business acumen in budgeting financial planning and marketing.

  • Experience with practice growth and community involvement.

  • Interest in expanding services and clinical innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited university.

  • Valid Veterinary License in the state

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to manage people and drive results.
