Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Special Security Representative (SSR) to support the daily operations and security compliance of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). This position is ideal for early-career professionals with a foundational understanding of personnel and facility security in classified environments.
The selected candidate will work under the guidance of senior security personnel and gain exposure to SCI security administration systems and best practices in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) directives.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing personnel information and physical security activities.
Maintain and process SCI eligibility and indoctrination records using tools such as DISS JADE and SCATTERED CASTLES (training provided as needed).
Help implement and enforce SCI standard operating procedures (SOPs) and emergency action plans.
Coordinate and track SCI indoctrinations debriefings and annual refresher training.
Assist with periodic self-inspections and preparation for government security audits.
Manage and update access rosters visitor logs and escort procedures.
Report and document security incidents or violations in accordance with established protocols.
Coordinate with Special Security Officers (SSOs) Command Security Officers and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of mission security support.
Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with classification and retention requirements.
Requirements
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
12 years of experience supporting security operations in a classified DoD IC or military environment.
Familiarity with security policies and procedures related to SCI classified facilities or special access programs.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Willingness to learn SCI systems and tools (e.g. DISS JADE SCATTERED CASTLES).
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in or supporting a SCIF environment.
Exposure to DISS JADE SCATTERED CASTLES or similar security databases.
Completion of basic security training (e.g. SSO Course SCI Administrative Support Course).
Familiarity with access control systems alarm monitoring or video surveillance tools.
Veterans or transitioning military personnel with security duties encouraged to apply.
