Job Summary
San Jose Behavioral Health is currently seeking aStaff Accountant to assist the accounting department and our 133 bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital located in South San Jose CA. Staff Accountant is responsible for the AP Payroll process Coordinate and Support of the Accounting Processes.

SJBH Salary Range - $80000 - $88000 - DOE
LOCATION: ONSITE
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform accounting activities such as routine calculations payroll calculations and record keeping.
- Collect and process information to prepare bi-weekly payroll and may reconcile payroll with source documents if applicable.
- Process invoices and print checks for vendors and/or employees as approved by Corporate.
- Assist in the preparation of facility month and year end reporting statistical reports budgets and financial reports.
- Ensure posting of all current month invoices to accounts payable to month end closing for accounts payable.
- Prepare CERS and assist with maintaining records of assets liabilities profit and loss tax liability or other financial activities within the facility.
- Assist in preparing month end journal entries and GL account reconciliations within established time frame.
- Assist in preparing required financial reports on a monthly quarterly and annual basis as required.
- Assist in preparation and completion of balance sheet and reconciliation package within established time frame.
- Assist in preparation and submission of quarterly and annual government reporting requirements to ensure the financial records are accurate and filed timely
- Assist in budget analysis and preparation.
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other functions and task as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Two or more years experience in accounts payable payroll accounting or finance with knowledge of GAAP required and work experience preferably in a Healthcare setting preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Required
- Proficient in Excel Required.
- Maintain strong work ethics and professionalism required.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills required
- Public accounting firm or public company experience preferred.

Compensation for roles at San Jose Behavioral Health varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location role skill set and level of required by local law San Jose Behavioral Health provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below:
