Mobile Fire Door Approved Person (AP)

Role Purpose
We are seeking a practical self-motivated professional to join our Fire Door Services team as a Mobile Fire Door Approved Person (AP). This position involves carrying out reactive maintenance planned preventive maintenance (PPM) remedial works and installations across commercial premises throughout the south of England. The successful candidate will coordinate with approved contractors and provide technical expertise while maintaining the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations
Carry out reactive maintenance repairs and PPM across various client contracts
Quality assure inspection documentation and sign off remedial/installation works
Build accurate quotes based on inspection reports
Read and interpret fire strategy plans and fire risk assessments
Compliance & Leadership
Ensure compliance with both client and JLL Health & Safety procedures
Provide support and guidance to technicians in a supervisory capacity
Work collaboratively with lead contract support and Client Engineering Coordinators (CEC)
Complete on-site Method Statements and Risk Assessments
Administrative & Development
Work remotely using laptop to fulfill AP responsibilities
Complete BM Trada training (company-provided) to fulfill AP role requirements
Participate in flexible working hours and emergency call-out cover
Maintain current knowledge and professional qualifications through CPD
Essential Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Trade background with recognized qualification or completed apprenticeship
Level 3 City & Guilds in Carpentry and Joinery (or equivalent)
Extensive knowledge of building fabric services and Health & Safety regulations
Skills & Attributes
Proficiency with smartphones PDAs laptops and IT systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexible approach to working hours including evenings and weekends
Self-motivated with supervisory capabilities and professional presentation
