Application Administrator
The Application Administration team provides technical and administrative support for departmental and enterprise applications for the Division of Residential and Hospitality Services at MSU. This position is part of a hybrid work team and will start fully on-site and transition to hybrid after on-boarding and a probationary time period.
Reporting to the Application Administration team manager the Application Administrator will primarily perform the following duties:
Maintain and troubleshoot divisional applications. Includes after hours response for issue resolution.
Provide user support application role definition & access management coordination
Documentation training business continuity planning.
Collaborate with operations and development staff to solve problems and implement solutions. Configuration/change management. Develop and implement new features custom reports system patches and upgrades.
Working with Unit Operators and Digital Strategies and Services staff the Application Administrator will be expected to acquire knowledge of the business use of specific enterprise applications in the university context. Scheduled hours and on-site/remote schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the business units.

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in maintaining and troubleshooting divisional applications. Includes after-hours response for issue resolution; provide user support application role definition & access management coordination; documentation training business continuity planning; collaborate with operations and development staff to solve problems and implement solutions; configuration/change management; develop and implement new features custom reports system patches and upgrades; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience managing enterprise-level computer applications; knowledge of basic computer operations operating systems. A proven ability to work with end users and a good customer-service attitude. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Database experience and knowledge of SQL. Knowledge of network server operations.
