What youd be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.

Were on the hunt for an awesome Systems Engineer to join our team! As a Systems Engineer in the Workforce Access Management team youll be responsible for empowering our Canvanauts through the delivery of our Access Management services.

At the moment this role is focused on:

• Delivering critical projects related to our Identity & Access Management program
• Implementing Access Management Controls via Okta on new and existing Third-Party SaaS systems (SSO Authentication Authorisation Role-Based Access Identity Lifecycle User Access review)
• Make Complex Things Simple by automating existing and new business processes using IPaaS tools (Workato)
• Providing consulting services & support related to Access Management for various types of requests changes escalations and incidents
• Designing and implementing SSO integrations via SAML and OIDC
• Evaluating new and emerging technologies features and products that make it easier to reliably build a mature Access Management practice

Youre probably a match if:

• You have at least 4 years of experience configuring Okta in large enterprise environments
• You bring strong demonstrable experience in Access Management or IAM engineering
• You have a proven track record of delivering projects related to Access Management programs
• You possess deep technical knowledge of app integration protocols such as SCIM SAML and OIDC
• You have strong knowledge of Access Management principles and best practices
• You leverage data to identify trends surface problem areas and prioritise improvements based on clear metrics

Its a plus if:

• You have experience automating business processes using iPaaS tools like Workato
• You have an understanding of AI tooling and MCP configuration particularly with Claude or ChatGPT

The Workforce Access Management (WAM) team is a pivotal team within the IT Platform sub-group.

The WAM team aims to radically innovate the foundational infrastructure of our Access Management technology to deliver a secure and frictionless experience for all employees.

This infrastructure powers Identity Lifecycle Management SaaS onboarding & offboarding Authentication Access Control and Authorisation User Access Reviews & Access Requests.
