The Learning Project Elementary School is located in Bostons Back Bay and is an independent day school for grades K-6. We maintain a strong foundation in character education uphold high standards for academic performance and maintain a firm commitment to enrolling a diverse community of students and school seeks an Associate Teacher to work in our first grade classroom. The broad duties of the Associate Teacher include to:-Collaborate with the Head Teacher in fostering a classroom community that values diversity equity inclusion and social justice;-Teach differentiated groups in language arts social studies and mathematics;-Collaborate with the Head Teacher to create lessons units and map out curricula; -Support and lead classroom activities discussions and hands-on learning experiences;-Review student work and provide timely feedback to students about their learning; -Participate in curriculum evaluation to meet the needs of students and the schools mission;-Coordinate with colleagues across grades to ensure continuity in curriculum and instruction;-Recognize and support each students strengths needs and ways of thinking and learning;-Communicate and maintain high standards for classroom management using positive approaches and restorative practices;-Share in the supervision of lunch recess and transitions;-Communicate with parents as needed;-Lead the class in the Head Teachers absence;In addition the Associate Teacher also works with children in the After School Program twice a week assisting with homework and supervising play providing the opportunity to work with students at multiple grade is a full time permanent position and includes benefits for medical dental vision retirement an MBTA pass program professional development funds disability and : A degree in education or teaching credential and experience with elementary age children are a must.
